Summary statistics

Before you carry out tests, it is important to summarise the data using summary statistics and graphs. Graphs are useful for identifying potential outliers or data entry errors which would otherwise create problems with analysis. You should also look for meaningful differences between means or percentages particularly with large sample sizes.
