Tests for comparing averages of independent groups

These techniques are used when you are comparing different groups of subjects and your outcome (dependent) variable is continuous (scale). Example: Test for a difference between average hours of work for people with and without school age children. Note: If the assumptions for the independent have not been met, select the equivalent non-parametric test from our Non-parametric resource page.
