Maths and statistics support sessions
SHU Maths and Statistics Support (MASS) provides free individual support with maths or statistics to
any SHU student.
Just turn up within the drop in times to ask our friendly maths or stats tutors for help understanding anything relating to maths or statistics.
Maths support drop in sessions (term time only)
Both on-campus and online drop in are available during term time only. Please check the homepage
twitter feed for up to date sessions each week, follow us on twitter @SHU_MASS or email Sarah at mathshelp@shu.ac.uk.
On campus maths support is in Adsetts room 6613
Online maths support takes place in the (maths support virtual room)

Statistics support sessions (throughout the year)
Both on campus and online drop in sessions and appointments for individual help with learning statistics
or under-taking quantitative analysis are available in term time with a reduced service outside of the
main undegraduate teaching weeks.
Notes: During busy times, sessions may be extended or additional sessions added. During the strike period or in the event of snow, stats support may be moved online. See

Online drop in ( academic skills virtual room )
Runs all year: Wednesdays 4-5:30 pm
Just drop in for advice from a statistics or a wide range of academic/library skills specialists.
On campus drop in sessions (City and Collegiate libraries)
On campus sessions are generally held during the main teaching terms only with longer sessions in busy periods.
Adsetts library, computer lab 6624 :Mondays 2:15-3:45pm (term time only)
Collegiate library, computer lab C106 Thursdays 12:15-1:45pm (term time only)
Online appointments with Ellen and any online drop in sessions not on Wednesdays are held in Ellen's virtual room
Please note that stats support is provided primarily by one lecturer
so support is limited particularly during school holidays.
